AAC audio to Audacity
I want to edit the AAC audio from an mp4 video created with iMovie. When I try to open it with Audacity I get a notice that says I need to have the FFmpeg library. What the heck is that and how do I get it?

Hi. I am having exact the same problem now. I use 2.4.0 version and I cant locate FFmpeg.

You an expand the number of different filetypes Audacity will manage by installing the FFMpeg software.

Because Audacity links to the FFmpeg dll, it requires a compatible version of FFmpeg. When a compatible version of FFmpeg is installed, Audacity will normally find it without requiring user interaction. See this page in the manual for obtaining ...

... AAC (MP4/M4A). I checked it with MediaInfo . Change the name to .AAC. Then if you haven't done so already, you'll need to install the optional FFmpeg import/export library so that Audacity can open it. Download & run ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe to install it.
