Re: Macro/Scripting To Automate Metadata Editing
... (Audacity is king!!) That's OK, we know that dBpowerAmp is good, but not free and not available for Linux. If you can't find a Python wrapped FFmpeg that can do it, check to see if you can manually edit the metadata with FFmpeg from the command line. If you can, (which I think should be possible, ...

Re: Macro/Scripting To Automate Metadata Editing
I also tried FFmpeg but had no luck with adding metadata fields into the WAV INFO chunk - I will however check it out again as there are plenty of FFmpeg Python-wrapped libraries. I am also exploring dBpoweramp - that has good metadata ...

Re: Using ffmpeg in /usr/local/bin/
Audacity links dynamically to FFmpeg. To do this, the version of FFmpeg has to match the FFmpeg code headers that Audacity was built with. Other versions of FFmpeg will not work with Audacity.

Using ffmpeg in /usr/local/bin/
Hi, I probably know enough terminal / command line to be dangerous... I previously installed ffmpeg with Homebrew (I believe). It puts the executable in /usr/local/bin/ Audacity doesn't see this location. When I use terminal to list files, I don't see the file 'ffmpeg.55.64bit.dylib'. ...

Re: edit preferences
It sounds like it could be some kind of problem with permissions, but then I would expect other problems to occur as well.
Are there any other problems you see on this computer?
Does Audacity work correctly other than the FFmpeg problem?

Re: Audacity 2.4.1 for Mac OS Catalina - Very Slow Interface Responses
... 2.4.1. I tend to get a message "Can't open audio code "aac" (0x15002). Experimental Feature". And this is after reinstalling FFmpeg a few times. Any idea what i can do? OOPS yes indeed - I can readily reproduce this. This is a serious regression on version 2.3.3. It also affects ...
