Same problem here, using Debian Lenny (MEPIS).
It has not fixed itself as reported above.
Lame, however, worked fine.
Any suggestions?

I'm trying to import a movie clip, which I need the sound for. Although I get an error message.
In Preferences I do as told, downloading the FFmpeg library, but nothing happens. I have K-lite codec pack, so maybe I already have the required avformat-52.dll, but where do I locate it?
