Same problem here, using Debian Lenny (MEPIS).
It has not fixed itself as reported above.

Lame, however, worked fine.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with 1.3.7. Whenever I try to import a FLAC it says it couldn't find ffmpeg, and I have to idea how to get it. As fas as I can see on their site I have to compile it myself. After telling we that, Audacity crashes. You can import FLAC with the ...

Importing x264_divX_mp4

I'm trying to import a movie clip, which I need the sound for. Although I get an error message.

In Preferences I do as told, downloading the FFmpeg library, but nothing happens. I have K-lite codec pack, so maybe I already have the required avformat-52.dll, but where do I locate it?

The same thing happened to me, but for some reason it started working when I tried to import an MPEG.
