Re: FFmpeg Library

The Jaunty version of Audacity works fine on Ubuntu 8.10
I've not tried it on 8.04 and I've not tried FFmpeg on 8.04 either. If they don't work, it's simple enough to uninstall them.

The other alternatives are to build from the source code, or as you say, to wait.

Export Multiple AC3 bug

When using Export Multiple and choosing AC3 (FFmpeg) as the output, the files are mistakenly encoded as M4A (AAC) files (FFmpeg) instead.

Re: FFmpeg Library

Yes there was a misprint in that version of Audacity. First the bad news: Audacity does not work with the version of FFmpeg that comes with Ubuntu 8.04 The good news, it works with the version that comes with Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) Also, the version of Audacity in Jaunty (1.3.7) has ...

Re: Audacity - Export audio from Video

What I wrote previously is correct. Audacity does not support video files, however, if you have ffmpeg installed and are using Audacity 1.3.7 (you have posted in the Audacity 1.2.x section of the forum), then, depending on which codecs are used in the AVI file and on how ...

Re: cannot use it

... predict how yours will behave.) 2) Consider upgrading to Audacity 1.3. It works a lot better than 1.2. Once you install 1.3, and then load the FFmpeg and LAME libraries through Preferences, I doubt you'll have a problem. Also, what formats are the files you're trying to use in? What are their ...

Re: Can't import flac

This one better work. http://drop.io/mikehunt Thanks. The file imports fine in 1.3.8 Alpha (Unicode), either via FFmpeg or the inbuilt FLAC importer. This might possibly be due to some improvements we have made in metadata tag handling since 1.3.7. If you want to try it, download ...
