WMA = "Windows Media Audio"

You need to install FfMpeg for WMA support - as Koz said, Lame doesn't do WMA (Lame is for MP3 encoding)

The lame software will not manage Windows Media. Did you download and install FFMpeg?

I thought one of the latest versions of Audacity knew how to speak Windows Media. What version do you have?

... I get the following message: Audacity recognized the type of the file '/Volumes/......... .WMA'. Importers supposedly supporting such files are: FFmpeg-compatible bestanden, but none of them understood this file format. Who can help me?? :?: Greatings, Roos

... the type of the file 'C:UsersownerDownloadsting4784sc.wav' Importers supposedly supporting such files are: WAV,AIFF,and other uncompressed files,FFmpeg-compatible files, but none of them understood this file format. Thank you for help with these "reluctant" files Schnahz

Couldn't open Lame_enc.dll

... the file I receive an error message: "Couldn't open Lame_enc.dll". It should be noted that I've successfully installed and located the FFmpeg library, so I can open and export WMA files. Thank you for your assistance. terrella

... order (FL, FR, FC, LFE, BL, BR,...) but some encoders don't make the inverse remap. Then when export multichannel 5.1 we need: ffmpeg m4a remap (Mixer window) 1->2, 2->3, 3->1, 4->6, 5->4, 6->5 ogg remap (Mixer window) 1->1, 2->3, 3->2, 4->6, 5->4, 6->5 First is a ffmpeg problem ...

hen I pointed the "locate" to the Windows Folder that contained the three "avformat" dll as well as all other FFmpeg files: ... That got Audacity to use FFmpeg, If you use the Windows installer file for FFMpeg (follow the links from the Audacity web site http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg ...

Struggled with getting Audacity 1.3.10 Beta working with FFmpeg on MS Window 7 (64bit Professional), kept getting message "FFmpeg library not found" in Audacity Preferences when trying to apply FFmpeg. I kept trying to apply/locate just "avformat-52.dll" ...

It worked GREAT! I had to up grade to the latest beta, but the ffmpeg installed quickly and easily, and I am operating again!
