Re: Noise when imported

... format ("SUPER" by erightsoft is an excellent free media format converter) and then import it. Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.11 and install FFMpeg. FFMPeg allows Audacity 1.3.x to import a much greater range of file formats. (http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg

Re: importing and exporting audio track to and from Windows

Audacity version 1.3 will import the audio from video files (including WMV) if you have downloaded and installed the ffmpeg import/export library. version 1.2 will not. The current release is 1.3.11, which you can get from here http://audacityteam.org/download and the directions ...

Re: FFmpeg library not found

Great software thanks all. Same problems here. I tried many many things. I downloaded the latest audacity beta version 1.3.11b. . Re-downloaded ffmpeg for audacity. I tried to use any of the 3 dlls in ffmpeg for audacity and 3dlls in audacity folder. Previously I had 1.3.8b What's the difference ...

Re: Is there a way

Well I did the 1.311 last night so far I like it. I did lapsda and the FFmpeg plugins. I haven't had time to take it for a test drive for very long but I will. BTW I made the tag editor go away in 1.3.

Re: Can I record in Vox format?

... After you capture the job, you can export in a number of different sound formats, but I don't think VOX in one of them. It's possible the FFMpeg plugin knows what that is. You can also export a high quality WAV sound file and convert it to other things with Super or Switch (download). ...

**SOLUTION** FFmpeg library not detected in 1.3.xx

... program to see the capabilities of it, and mainly for it's import/export feature, but I had trouble getting it going because it could not find any FFmpeg libraries (avformat-52.dll). I installed the 1.3.9, 1.3.10, 1.3.11b, and 1.3.12a versions with all the same result. I downloaded the LAME codec ...

Wma vs Mp3

... now I'm confused about which format is the better - Wma or Mp3 (or whatever) for what you might want to do with the music file. I just now d/l the FFMPEG libraries, and so now Audacity will open the Wma files. Maybe I don't need to re-convert them. I'm such a rookie about this, I hope I'm not being ...
