Re: how to save to .wav from .avi
... Pro for Windows can do that, but I would have to dig to check. These are all money-based solutions. It's possible that Audacity 1.3.12 with the FFMpeg add-on can help you. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Koz

Re: Does Audacity edit MP4 (video) files?
The 1.3 versions of Audacity ( with the ffmpeg library installed ) will rip the audio from an MPEG4 video. I suspect combining the modified (amplified) audio with a copy of the original video images will require a video editing programme , (Audacity ...

... the 1.3.x forum, so I hope you are using the latest beta, which is 1.3.12. It is recommended (by me, at least) for Macs running 10.6.x. LAME and ffMPEG are installed in a "hidden" location on your Mac's hard drive. Audacity knows where to find them. They are in /usr/local/lib/audacity/ ...

... in order to place the music on itunes, I needed to convert it to mpg3 format, requiring a software download of aptly named 'Lame 3.9" and FFMPEG. This was duly downloaded and installed. Three times, as I could never find them again. I would be greatly appreciative if I could get proper ...

Re: Crash when importing ac3
It seems I solved.
Audacity uses the PATH environment variable to locate the FFMpeg library and there was a conflict with eac3to, which was in PATH and has its own FFMpeg library in its same directory.
Thanks for your support.

... for me in Win7 x64 in 1.3.13 alpha and 1.3.12. If you are crashing when exporting AC3 as well there may be a conflict with some other version of FFmpeg on your computer. Also have you ever used Audacity 1.2? If so, and those 1.2 preferences in the Windows Registry are still there, deleting the ...

... and Koz. I was traveling and hence, could not try your suggestions. I'll try them. In the mean time, I've a question. When I use audacity with ffmpeg plug-in, to improve audio, would I be able to keep the video and audio in synch? If so, is there anything specific I would have to do? Thanks ...

Re: Editing audio from a VCD
... VCD, yes the files will have .dat extension. To be honest, I don't think anyone has asked this before. So you'll have to experiment. Install FFmpeg if you haven't already. It looks from the code as if Audacity will reject the .dat extension, so try renaming the file to .mpg extension. Let ...
