Thanks for the reply, ok so i have 2 different .aac files that were extracted using 'gMKVExtractGUI'. The extension is .aac but the site reads them as this: Format : ADTS Format/Info : Audio Data Transport Stream File size : 1.22 GiB Overall bit rate mode : Variable Does this mean i cannot edit them...

In that case, i do think that this needs to be an option in Audacity prefs. I cannot think of any occasion where I would want a compress...
