... (illustration) and that won't fit on any phone. The above illustration is from an Audacity where I installed both "lame" and "FFMpeg", so it will export music in many different file types and compressions. MP3, AAC, M4A, etc. What does your phone want? Koz

... can use Super or Switch (download) to convert the track to WAV (not MP3) and edit with that, or you might be able to play them by installing the FFMpeg plugin from the Audacity download site. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Koz

... You can install both versions, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2. Get new, fresh lame and FFMpeg add-ons for the new Audacity. Old ones don't work. With the FFMpeg add-on, you should be able to open Windows Media files directly. They're compressed, ...

... 1.2.x doesn't know how to decode those files. If you really are using 1.2.x, you should consider upgrading to 1.3.12. It has support for the FFmpeg library which can import and export many more formats. I am definitely using the latest version of Audacity. I'm not sure if I got FFmpeg installed or not. I went through the installer but when I started up Audacity again and imported the file, it did the same thing to the file. How do I check if FFmpeg got installed?

Check that you are using the latest version of Audacity (1.3.12) and have FFmpeg installed.
