... by default to the directory you quote (on Vista/7). However I don't know offhand of any dialogue in Audacity that respects the PresetsDir in .cfg. FFmpeg custom export remembers the last used directory and other dialogues seem to always open in the user's Audacity data directory rather than the ...

... or patched. Audacity 1.3.12 is highly recommended. http://audacityteam.org/download/ You need to get the additional software, lame (for MP3) and FFMpeg (for newer sound formats) from the same place you got Audacity. Audacity 1.2 is aggressively hostile to Macs, so my support and answers are for ...

Re: Records only White Noise

We're good. The FFMpeg library makes it possible for Audacity to recognize, play, and export many more modern music file types than Audacity alone. I believe that's the software you need to directly manage Windows Media files and ...

Re: Creating Podcasts with Music and Voice Overs

Your iTunes files are probably in .m4a format. You'll need the FFmpeg extension to import them, or convert them to AIF inside of iTunes.

If you're using Audacity 1.3.12, you should go to that site and only use the lame and FFMpeg you get from there. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac And they did install. Any suggestions? Because it's 'hidden', I don't know how to change the permissions.
Cheers
Anette
