Re: can not import audio files

Certainly. I presume that this patch supersedes all other FFmpeg patches so that I apply it to a brand new clean svn download of the Audacity source code? Yes, it superseeds all other FFmpeg patches. It should be applied to a clean svn checkout. Which ...

Re: can not import audio files

Can you test the patch from bug #233? Certainly. I presume that this patch supersedes all other FFmpeg patches so that I apply it to a brand new clean svn download of the Audacity source code? Which version of FFmpeg should I use this with? Will I need to completely remove ...

Re: can not import audio files

I've got the debug version to run, but now I'm unable to get FFmpeg to be recognised at all.

Starting with a clean SVN download, what patches/code modifications are advised and which version of FFmpeg would it be best for me to test?

Re: Unable to open .WMA *After* installing FFmpeg??

... 1.2 part of the forum. Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity") There are different types of WMA file. FFmpeg support for WMA is incomplete so you may have a version of WMA that is not yet supported by FFmpeg. Try using SUPER (by erightsoft) to convert ...

Re: Batch import/export

I'm confused about which version of Audacity you are actually using (you've posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum, but FFmpeg is only available for Audacity 1.3.x) I would highly recommend that you use Audacity 1.3.12. AVI files can be problematic because there are so many different ...

Re: can not import audio files

Try importing using Audacity 1.3.12 with the latest git FFmpeg and Audacity reports: "/home/.../rest.ac3" is a Dolby Digital audio file. Audacity cannot currently open this type of file. You need to convert it to a supported audio format, ...

Re: can not import audio files

First problem was that I seemingly removed too much of Ubuntu FFmpeg - I reinstalled it using Synaptic but when I configured the Audacity build --with-ffmpeg=system there was a configure error that said there was no system library. It is very easy to install ...

Unable to open .WMA *After* installing FFmpeg??

I've downloaded the FFmpeg file
Yet when I try to open a >WMA file I get the message...

"Audacity recognised the type of file....
Importers supposedly supporting such files are:
mpeg compatibile

but none of them understood this format."

Any suggestions?

Re: Batch import/export

... much but, for the moment, I"m a tad worse off (even after rebooting just to be sure). I downloaded and with FILE > OPEN I get a message that ffmpeg can't read. I can FILE > IMPORT > RAW DATA AVI but if I export WAV it now has the noise that didn't get exported before. I can also see chains. ...

Re: Batch import/export

... at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2. Now go back up there, download and install both the "lame" software and the "FFMpeg" software. Between them, they will (should) natively recognize and manage AVI without the Import step. Just File > Open. Koz
