That's not the right version for Audacity.

You are probaly trying to import a filetype that Auadaity 1.2 can't deal with.

Get the latest Audacity 1.3.13 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

And be sure to also downnload the plugin: FFmpeg import/export library
its link is listed on the download pages
