Re: Input source

... time. Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3. If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software from the same web site. Do not use older software or software from other web sites, even though they may have the same names. Koz

can audacity use multiple threads for ffmpeg export?

I am exporting this file as AC3 (ffmpeg), and it is only using one core, taking about 4hours for it to finish. Is there a way for audacity+ffmpeg to use multiple cores?

Re: Very muffled audio from concert recording; can it be fix

... poor 8000Hz rate is not being imposed by the conversion software which is extracting the audio. Audacity 1.3 will rip the audio from video if the FFmpeg libraries are installed. I extracted the audio file with VirtualDub using "Direct Stream Copy" mode so I figured it would be the same ...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the

Thanks, Gale. I understand the Ffmpeg error - makes sense. When I double click an .aup file I get the same result. I tried opening the example file from the commanbd line: (my prompt here)/Desktop% open -a Audacity piano2-CoolEdit.mp3 ...and ...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the

Thanks, Todd. I agree the console errors don't seem relevant to the subject issue. 1.3.12 gives that error for FFmpeg because it doesn't support our latest FFmpeg version (0.6.2). I understand you get the same console errors when opening an .aup file in both 1.3.12 and 1.3.13, ...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the

... Downloading the .12 version right now... OK, same problem when trying to open the same mp3. No surprise, I got an error on startup stating that Ffmpeg had been successfully loaded previously, but that it couldn't find it now (I didn't change the prefs for the test). Here's the Audacity log if ...

Problems with Export to AC3

... expect: pan to the right and you get the english< pan to the left and you get german. Im using Audacity1.3.13 beta (unicode) under Wndows XP. The FFmpeg library version F(52.64.2),C(52.7.2),U(50.15.1). If I export with the same settings, except to MP3 (using LAME) the result is perfect. Any ideas ...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the

... Audacity results in the program launching but not importing the file, and the log in Audacity shows nothing other than its progress in loading the FFmpeg libraries. I can import the files with no problem once the app is launched. I'm at work at the moment, so I don't have access to the same computer, ...

Re: Preference/Library missing

... Unity shell, but I would guess the reason "Libraries" is missing is that the 1.3.13 Ubuntu build of Audacity disables dynamic loading of FFmpeg and LAME. Hence the Libraries tab is superfluous. Can you export MP3 (that is, use LAME) and export AAC (that is, use FFmpeg)? I believe Debian ...
