Файл .ape -- не родной формат Audacity. Возможно, для импорта поможет библиотека FFMPEG, но не уверен. WAV должен открываться без проблем, если это обычный WAV, а не файл в другом аудио-формате, обозванный как .wav. Давай ссылку на такие файлы, посмотрю на досуге. ...

... They may be WMA files or some other compressed format. Audacity 1.3.14 can support many file types (but not APE afaik) if you also install "FFMpeg". See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg

... it is by right clicking on the file and selecting "Properties". If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14 and install the optional package "FFMpeg" then Audacity will support many more file types. Yes. The lame software changed a bit between versions, so you should go back up to the Audacity Download page and get the new lame -- and FFMpeg if you want that. http://audacityteam.org/download/ WAV is uncompressed and undamaged -- and very large. This is the format you want if you are going ...
