Command Line Export refers to the exporter 's command line, not Audacity's command line. You can call lame, ffmpeg, etc from within Audacity and use command line programs to export from the GUI. So the answer is no, you can't export using Audacity on the command line. There are ...

Ordinary Audacity doesn't understand fancy music file formats. To do that, you have to download and install the FFMpeg software from here...

A more recent version of the Ffmpeg export library is available than “avformat-52.dll” (actually “avformat-54.dll”). Audacity 2.0.0 RC1 won’t accept the more recent version. Is there any way to force Audacity to accept any “avformat-x.dll”? ...

Newbie help

... file. Itried dragging it directly from itunes to audacity, and going to the file on my harddrive. It keeps saying "Audacity attempted to FFmpeg to import an audio file, but the libraries were not found." I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreiated.

Updating the Ffmpeg export library

... know much about Macs but this may not be possible). As Koz suggested, a workaround would be to use a video capture program to record. If you have FFmpeg installed Audacity can import the audio from several video file formats (though it does not allow you to capture from a video "device").
