Re: Can't import MP3's

A few minutes ago I tried the FFmpeg-compatible import option and got the same crash and error. On a hunch, I downloaded "FFmpeg_v0.6.2...," manually redirected Audacity to that version of the FFmpeg library (it claimed it had ...

Re: Can't import MP3's

Dual 2GHz G5
OS-X 10.4.11
Audacity 2.0.0

Right-Click on Levaya_H_Pollock_orig.mp3 > Open With > Audacity.

Re: Unable to open lame or FFMpeg

This is the layout. For some reason, the simple lame module loaded immediately and without fuss. Not so the FFMpeg. Simply nothing happens. I Point to: /Applications/Audacity/FFmpeg_v0.6.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX/libavcodec.52.dylib Which is what the instructions say ( see pix). ...

... the files are really AAC or M4A (or something like that) compressed files, you should be able to open them with Audacity after you install the FFMpeg software extension/plugin. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Koz

... . The easiest, most graceful way around format problems that occur is to rely on third party, open source software like "lame" and FFMpeg. You should install both of them, lame to Export MP3, and FFMpeg to open 3ga format. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Koz

Re: Can't import MP3's

@alterbentzion: have you tried installing FFmpeg then use File > Import > Audio in Audacity and choose "FFmpeg-compatible files". This will use a different importer to import the files.

Re: Silence required at beginning and end of track

Can this be done via a chain command? I have looked into both 2.0 and audacity-1.3.14-unicode-alpha_ffmpeg_uncompressed_export_chains but apparently there's no command for this. Currently no, though if you build Audacity from the source code then there is a patch available (I'll look for the link i...
