Questions about switching to Audacity 2.0 from 1.3.7 on XP
I have a fiew questions before switching from 1.3.7 to 2.0. I'm using Windows XP Home and JAWS 7.10. Is 2.0 going to work with my setup? Do I need to uninstall 1.3.7 before installing 2.0? Also, this may seem like a silly question, but where do I get the latest version of the LAME DLL and FFMpeg?

On Preferences: Libraries I have had to re-point MP3 and FFmpeg to the correct locations, but I don't really remember if those events were in conjunction with the toolbar default problem. ... Explode the installer. Click on the Audacity folder and drag it to your Applications folder. Make a cuppa. There must be a way to install lame and FFMpeg with that sort of simplicity. Koz

Re: AMR format: Where to download FFmpeg?
Obviously the link from the Audacity manual is dead. :( The official way: To download the FFmpeg installer for Windows go to http://lame1.buanzo.com.ar/ and from that page download the "FFMpeg Binary compatible with Audacity 1.3.13, 2.x or later on Windows". ...

Re: Recovering "odd" .wav files from CD
Yes, FFMpeg seems to be able to handle a bunch of ADPCM variants. http://ffmpeg.org/doxygen/trunk/adpcm_8c.html
I can't check right now because I'm sitting at an Audacity-free (aka "work") computer, but if I remember correctly the last entry in Import-RAW... is VOX ADPCM.
