Re: Various Issues with Audacity 2.x
Start-up is slower than in 1.2. Audacity is looking for, and if found, loading LAME and FFmpeg. See Help > Show Log... . If your computer is "practically frozen" during Audacity launch, what are the computer specifications for RAM and speed (MHz)? Almost each ...

Re: Audacity missin tagged information artist name
It's a limitation in that version of FFmpeg - I noted it here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/FFmpe ... ctionality .
You could add the artist name as a comment. I don't know any other workaround.

Re: Unable to compile Audacity (Subversion trunk) on Fedora
It may be that Audacity is not compatible with your version of FFMpeg. A similar case here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=66090&hilit=ffmpeg You could try building without FFMpeg support, or change your version of FFMpeg to ...

Re: Unable to compile Audacity (Subversion trunk) on Fedora
Hmm, that doesn't look quite right does it. I'll ask about this. Building against versions of FFmpeg above 8 are largely untested so I'm not surprised if there are problems with FFMpeg 9, 10 and 11. Try adding this to your configure options: --disable-dynamic-loading This ...

In each of the different Audacity Download pages, scroll down to get to the appropriate '"lame" and "FFMpeg" downloads.
