Re: Wish: Update ffmpeg import from version 0.6 to 1.1 or la
We can add your vote, but basically we do want to update to FFmpeg 1.x. However FFmpeg dynamic loading from Preferences is constrained by the fact that changes in later FFmpeg versions require considerable coding changes in Audacity. Also any FFmpeg version ...

Wish: Update ffmpeg import from version 0.6 to 1.1 or later
Hi, Audacity is a great tool, so as FFMpeg. Unfortunately, Audacity uses ffmpeg v0.6x for import. Since then FFMpeg as added many codecs support (incl. for instance WMA Lossless) and also CLI synthax changes. Updating to latest FFmpeg (currently ...

Re: Ends of tracks truncated when exported. Why?
... MP3 is actually slightly lengthened. The MP3 limitation is in the format, and I think the M4A limitation is likewise in the format rather than in FFmpeg which Audacity uses to export M4A, but I have never tested it. The answer is to export to WAV or AIFF. Gale

Re: Sending audacity files over Skype
... your friend needs to give you the _data folder for the project as well, which may be very large. If the audio was saved in M4A or AAC format, add FFmpeg to your computer then Audacity will open the file. If you've been given a raw temporary file then my guess it will be iSAC or iLBC . It will ...

Re: trouble with exporting
Does the message say why it can't export? What is the full error message? To export in proprietary formats such as WMA you need to install FFMpeg - have you done that? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown By the way, WMA (Windows Media Audio) is an ...

Re: Any way to export:M4A/AAC in a chain?
Thanks, I don't have enough posts to be trusted to PM. But since I have to use ffmpeg externally anyway (I was just muxing the audio from audacity into my final file) I experimented with exporting flac from a chain which I could encode back into AAC. But in looking ...

Re: Any way to export:M4A/AAC in a chain?
I suppose the answer is no, but thought I would ask. Maybe because it requires ffmpeg it can't be used as a command in a chain? Chains don't yet support FFmpeg formats (or uncompressed formats other than WAV) but we can add your vote for this. If you want an old, ...

Re: Settings help
I don't see those settings in normal Audacity Export, so you probably need the FFMpeg software.

Re: .gs Audio Files on Samsung Galaxy S3
... there any software anywhere that will convert it to a file format I can read in my computer? If these might be GSM then you could try installing FFmpeg ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ). Otherwise, does S3 have a headphones out? If so, and your ...
