Re: Recording Audio From DVD Video File

... we are talking about. The VOB files will not be copy protected as it was a home recorded DVD. The method of import should not matter as long as FFmpeg is installed because only FFmpeg will extract the audio. What exactly happens when you import the VOB into Audacity? If there is an error, what ...

Re: wav file recorded with voice downlink not working

When you import the file, do File > Import > Audio... and make sure you choose "FFmpeg-compatible files" before importing the file. What does the waveform look like - is it a flat line or almost so? Is the file the correct length? If the file is the correct ...

Re: Can't find libmp3lame.dylib file for mp3 export

There is no User/local...

There is a /Users... and a /usr/local...

I remember there was some serious discussion of where those two (MP3 and FFMpeg) files were and where they seemed to be. I know they appear to let you put them anywhere, but that doesn't work.

Re: Best way to track out shows recorded from my Tascam Dr-4

You didn't say what the format was, but if Audacity can't deal with them, you may need to install the FFMpeg software. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg Also, you should purposefully avoid capturing compressed files ...

Re: wav file recorded with voice downlink not working

You may be able to open the sound file if you install the FFMpeg software into Audacity. FFMpeg allows Audacity to recognize and open many more sound formats than Audacity alone. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg ...

install FFmpeg ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ) then see if Audacity will import it. I suggest you use File > Import > Audio... in Audacity and select "FFmpeg-compatible files" ...

Re: Unable to Play ADTS Formatted Audio Files

After trying unsuccessfully to convert the .aac file using my other conversion software, I uninstalled Audacity and the FFMpeg installation and reinstall both using the steps outlined. Everything looks good. Thank you very much.

Re: Unable to Play ADTS Formatted Audio Files

FFmpeg only claims to support AAC in ADTS format.

After installing FFmpeg you may have to locate it in Audacity .

Re: Unable to Play ADTS Formatted Audio Files

You will probably also need to set the "File types" filter in the Import dialogue to "FFMpeg-compatible files". I installed the file you suggested but that did not change the result. I did not see any import dialogue. I simply clicked on Project -> Import ...
