Re: FFmpeg library is missing
I get the error that the "Critical Nyquist files cannot be found". That's a really strong indication that Audacity is not installed correctly. I'd suggest that you completely remove Audacity from your system, re-download it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac and then carefull...

Re: FFmpeg library is missing
Sorry, I eventually got the FFmpeg library to work. However, know I get the error that the "Critical Nyquist files cannot be found". And I try to create a karaoke song, but the words still come up. What am I doing wrong?

Re: FFmpeg library is missing
Use a few more words. If the FFMpeg library was missing you would never have gotten the sound file into the machine. Are you saying you installed the FFMpeg libraries and then your new sound file started playing?
Does your original sound file work? Does it still make a karaoke song OK?

FFmpeg library is missing
I downloaded Audacity awhile ago and was able to create a karaoke version just fine. Now when I try to import the audio file I get the error that ffmpeg library is missing. When I continue with the process it isn't stripping the vocals of the file. Any idea what I need to do?

Re: Codec question
I checked back in the other forum, and they said why don't I use FFmpeg as follows: ffmpeg -y -i sourcefile.wav -acodec pcm_u8 -ar 32000 destinationfile.wav I looked at FFmpeg, but couldn't figure out how to get it on my PC, seems you have to put it all ...

... -> WAV Encoding -> U-Law OK Save I'm not sure if u-Law comes with the default installation, so if you don't see that option download the optional FFMPEG Import/Export Library . FYI - The 64kbps bitrate comes from 8kHz x 8-bit u-Law, so you don't have to set it separately.

Re: Import MP3 Podcast sounds like "outer space" 1950
It played too fast? Then it probably wasn't a real MP3 or was of a different file type. Install the FFMpeg software add-on and Audacity will be able to recognize many more different sound files than it does normally. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ...
