Re: Converting Rhetorax ADPCM codec to mp3
Have you installed the optional FFMPEG library? I don't know if it can decode your file, but it can handle most formats. I think Audacity should be able to use the same CODEC that WMP is using, but someone else will have to help/answer that. ...

Re: Importing an .m4v (video) file with multiple audio track
I believe you can use both Lame and FFMpeg as stand-alone programs and there are many more options when you do that. You can also fake it and record the French words by playing that track as a video show and using SoundFlower to record "What's ...

Re: Audacity plays songs way too fast
If Audacity was installed from the Ubuntu repository then it should have automatically installed the correct version of ffmpeg (because Libav is listed as a dependency). Audacity sometimes play certain songs way too fast, with weird noises, but at other times plays just fine. What ...

Re: Audacity plays songs way too fast
Audacity translates compressed music files it doesn't understand into speed changes. You can usually get around this by installing the FFMpeg software.
You'll need to pick out the right one yourself. They change with the Linux version.

Re: Imovie converting 1 trk mono to dual
You can install the FFMpeg software and Audacity will open the sound tracks of many video formats. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown A mono track in a video system should play to both speakers. ...

... edit or adjust the volume before saving. Then, you'll need CD burning software to make the CD. I use ImgBurn. You may have to install the optional FFMPEG Library, depending on the audio/video format. (And, Audacity won't work with commercial DVDs which are copy-protected.)

Will do of course.Gale Andrews
Good. If you do find the cause of the conflict with LAME, please let us know, but certainly no need to worry about if you are running OK now using FFmpeg.

This is just to let you know that when exporting with "Custom FFmpeg Export", whether I type just a few letters of the title or the whole title, it will come up with the right file, or offer to over-write it if it is exactly the same title as in ...

... one already in there. I haven't dared do that yet, in case I rock the boat. Because, I succeeded in exporting a 45 minute drama this morning using ffMpeg with no trouble whatsoever. I do understand this now. When you select "MP3 Files" in the file export window, this acts as a "filter" ...
