Re: FFmpeg installation: Cannot find plugin

Does your install look like this? Most of that is Read/Write by koz (who is logged in) and Read-Only by everybody else. No "root" account. I have the Mac set to show me all filename extensions. That's why all the .app text is visible. Both MP3 and M4A work.

Re: How to rip audio (music) track from a DVD?

... CD tracks from Finder into Audacity. For a DVD I think you can still drag the VOB files from the DVD into Audacity but you will need to install FFmpeg first. Re: Audacity doesn't locate ffmpeg

Doesn't it come down as an .exe or .zip file? You have to run the installer and the installer does all the work.

... file formats lose a little quality but don't take much space on the drive. For MP3 export you have to add LAME . For MP4 export you have to add FFmpeg . Is it easiest to access the music files via itunes or spotify? All Audacity can do is export to a physical folder on your hard drive. You cannot ...

... of supported file types can be extended with a couple of "helper" programs. Audacity can use "LAME" to export MP3 file. "FFMpeg" enables Audacity to read and write (import / export) many other formats, including most WMA files. Re: Audacity 2.0.5 hangs when reading oga file

You should be able to rename the file to OGG then tell FFmpeg to import the file by using File > Import > Audio and choosing "FFmpeg-compatible files", but there seems to be a bug here - the OGG importer takes the file anyway, so Audacity ...
