Re: import and edit files from itunes
... email was after a drag and drop attempt. That error said it was an AAC file. So as per my previous post in this topic, you need to either install FFmpeg or convert the file to WAV in iTunes. I downloaded and installed that FFLame thing, but I could never confirm that it became a part of Audacity. ...

... in AAC format (M4A) assuming you have not already converted them. To import M4A files into Audacity on Windows, you will have to add the optional FFmpeg library to your computer as described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown . Once you have done ...

Re: AAC file in iTunes into Audacity
... M4A files can be imported directly into Audacity: * Windows/Linux: Follow the Windows or Linux instructions to download and install the optional FFmpeg library. Re: AAC file in iTunes into Audacity
I don't think Audacity knows what AAC is without also adding the FFMpeg software. If FFmpeg is not installed Audacity 2.0.5 displays a warning, then uses QuickTime to import AAC files. I think it's also true you can't do that with Fair-Play copy protected ...

Re: Can't load FFMPEG with newly compiled Audacity [SOLVED]
Try this specific build of FFmpeg: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win32/shared/ffmpeg-2.2.2-win32-shared.7z . That one is known to work in Audacity without ASIO enabled. Gale I use this one with ASIO enabled (although no current sound ...

Re: Can't load FFMPEG library with newly compiled Audacity
Exactly what version of Audacity have you compiled? If you compiled HEAD, Audacity will require a shared build of FFmpeg 1.2 or later. Try http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ . Gale I've compiled the HEAD version, yet none of those libraries can be loaded. I've decided to (temporary?) ...
