FFmpeg is not available for Audacity 1.2. You would have to extract the audio from the WMV files to WAV before Audacity 1.2 can import them. Please be careful with XP. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=252800#p252800 ...

Re: Can't Get ffmpeg and Lame recognised by Audacity

I'll try the upgrade. Not sure where I got it from. Might as well have the latest anyway. How about I send you the aac file and you see what you think is the best way to treat it? Re: Importing audio from video using FFmpeg

I've installed 2.2.2 FFmpeg and Audacity auto locates it - so far so good. I then launch the latest nightly alpha 2.0.7 and try dragging the YT listing for a video onto the Audacity - all I see is a little red circle with a red diagonal ...

Split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=256623#p256623 And if you install FFmpeg you can drag that video into Audacity and it will extract the video's audio for you. At that point you have not lost any audio quality and you have made sure that you won't ...

Re: Can't Get ffmpeg and Lame recognised by Audacity

If you downloaded FFmpeg 2.2.2 from the link on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown , that version of FFmpeg requires Audacity 2.0.6. If that's the problem, then the best solution is to upgrade ...

Can't Get ffmpeg and Lame recognised by Audacity

... I find I can install that ability so I do it. I now have Lame in the programfileslame for audacity folder and the .dll it uses right there. I have ffmpeg for audacity in the correct folder for it, with the required .dll Audacity sees them there when I go to edit/preferences/libraries - or shows ...

Re: Metatags no longer showing

It's a long-standing FFmpeg bug, though it is possible it varies with FFmpeg version. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.6#ffmpeg . The only real workaround is to export as WAV and convert to AAC in iTunes . If ...
