Re: Creating 2 seconds on wma files
Thanks for the report. There is no issue with FFmpeg 2.2.2 itself run at the command-line, outside of Audacity. The Audacity problem is only in how Audacity is writing the length into the file headers, not with the actual length of the file, which ...

Re: New to Audacity - HELP!!
Can I assume Audacity will not import the WMA files right? Download and install the FFMpeg software package. That allows Audacity to open up and manage many more different types of sound files than it can do by itself. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ...

Re: can't build 2.0.6
Do you know why the --disable-dynamic-loading option is necessary ? Dynamic loading requires that FFmpeg has all the right hooks for Audacity, but many distributions do not carry an appropriate version in their repositories. If you build shared libraries from the FFmpeg ...

Re: CRASH!
The moral of the story is, if you install LAME (why...) you must also install FFmpeg import/export. Otherwise you will get the errors noted in my initial post. Installing FFmpeg will remove the FFmpeg "errors" from the Log but won't affect your freeze/crash. ...

Re: Help- Trouble loading FFmpeg library
... my machines running Audacity 2.0.6. It is not really an error. If you only import and export standard WAV files for example, you should not need FFmpeg. But the FFmpeg messages are useful if you install FFmpeg and Audacity has problems loading it. Gale

LAME = LAME Ain't an Mp3 Encoder
Re: CRASH!
It should be possible to run either add-on without the other. Audacity will open MP3 files without any additional software, but won't make any new ones. Many of the advanced sound formats need FFMpeg to either open or save.
Lame Ain't an MP3 Encoder.
It's a recursive joke.
