Re: Import file size limitations?

... really is and Windows hiding the filename extensions doesn't help any. If Audacity mysteriously doesn't open the show, you may need to install the FFMpeg software to help out. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown Assuming a stereo show, you have the best ...

... it from VLC player to Audacity. Once I drag that is not going to Audacity.Audacity cannot import all file types as shipped. I suggest you install FFmpeg then Audacity can import most types of file. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown for instructions. ...

Re: FFmpeg Exporter Not Working

FFMpeg doesn't support MP3. That's what Lame does. To be strictly correct, FFmpeg can import MP3 (if you choose "FFmpeg-compatible files" when you import). FFmpeg can export MP3 if the FFmpeg build includes libmp3lame, ...

Re: AUDACITY 2.0.6,LAME AND FFmpeg ON DRIVE D:

... You installed it on D: or pasted it into D: - I am not sure which you did when you say you saved it there. If you used the installer for LAME and FFmpeg then Audacity should still find those. Note that you don't save more than about 20 MB of space on C: by installing Audacity on D: - what matters ...

Re: FFmpeg Exporter Not Working

Ah, yes. As Koz says, you could export to AIFF, import into iTunes then do the conversion to MP3 there. Or you could download Max (it's free) and use that to do conversion to MP3. That's what I do, since it is faster than Audacity since it will do batch conversions. Exporting to AIFF in Audacity is ...

Re: FFmpeg Exporter Not Working

LAME is different from FFmpeg.

Have you looked in /usr/local/lib/audacity/ to see if libmp3lame.dylib is actually there? To do that, in the Finder, click on the Go menu then type "/usr/local/lib/audacity/" into the box (without the quote marks).

FFMpeg doesn't support MP3. That's what Lame does.

Since you're on a Mac, you can do it in iTunes.

FFmpeg Exporter Not Working

Whenever I attempt to export my edited audio as an MP3 file it prompts me to download and install lame, although I have already installed FFmpeg. I'm not sure what the problem is! Audacity recognizes I have FFmpeg installed but does not allow me to export audio in MP3 format with it. Please ...
