Re: FFmpeg

Which Library folder did you look in? LAME and FFmpeg are installed in the system Library folder, not your user Library folder.

Also, since you're trying to install FFmpeg, you need to use the FFmpeg installer, not the LAME installer.

Re: FFmpeg

You do not need to install LAME for Audacity.

For several releases now LAME has been bundled in with the Audacity app.

FFmpeg

I have tried a number of times to install this file from the package (lame_ :D 64bit_osx.pkg) but it does not take.
The installation process seems to proceed as expected.

Go to libraries...nothing there.
Running Big Sur 11.2.3...on a mac Pro 2018

any suggestions?
thank you

Re: ERROR: Import Failed- this is likely caused by a malformed MP3

Good Afternoon, Thank you for that. I installed the FFmpeg and added the filter and am still receiving the same error message? And I am unsure what to do? I have never had this happen before, and am a novice user. I can do very basic things and usually, ...

Re: ERROR: Import Failed- this is likely caused by a malformed MP3

So, the page is a little confusing. There are two links. The first, for Lame, you do NOT need. The second one is further down the page. Look for FFmpeg for Windows and latest Audacity versions You want to click on the link that says: "ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe" And don't forget to set up ...

Audacity 3.0.3 (the next release version) will be the first official 64-bit release for Windows. The developers are currently working on 64-bit FFmpeg support, so that should be available soon.... Thanks Steve. The ffmpeg will complete the picture so I'll look forward to that... You may be able ...

Lots of startup warnings

Trying to build audacity 3.0.2 in Ubuntu. It starts and seems working, but with lots of warning. Build with: cmake, system ffmpeg, gtk3, wxwidgets3.1.3, Ubuntu 20.04 First, it pops up a "An assertion failed!" dialog, that indicates "./src/widgets/FileConfig.cpp(98): assert ...
