Re: Very poor sound quality on export to M4A
From the Audacity 2.0.6 release notes: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.6#Imports_and_Exports_.28FFmpeg.29 M4A (AAC) exports: The Quality Slider in "Specify AAC Options" has no effect if the FFmpeg library is built with the libvo-aac encoder, as are recommended ...

Re: Windows 7 - Audacity 2.0.4 - cannot find FFmpeg
I have updated to the most recent version and am still having this problem. It cannot find the .dll file needed. I browse to it, select it, say "OK" and it still won't import m4a files (for example). Any ideas?

Re: Crash during export multiple
If you try AAC again, make sure you have FFmpeg from here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown.jwatterworth wrote:Thanks Gale. I was able to do it as wave and then to AAC in Itunes. Cool!

Re: Very poor sound quality on export to M4A
My export default for M4A is 40. Try that once to see what happens. It's remotely possible that FFMpeg isn't following the Audacity settings and you're actually getting a really low compression instead of Highest Possible.

Very poor sound quality on export to M4A
Hi If I export from Audacity 2.0.6 to M4A, with the option set to 500 quality, and using FFmpeg 2.2.2, then the sound quality is awful with a bubbling type noise throughout. Export to MP3 or AIFF sounds just fine. The original WAV files, and the edited WAV files, also ...

Audacity 2.0.6 with current LAME and FFMPEG on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Is it possible to export as 2 track what is input as 1 track? Essentially, just copy the left (or right) track as synchronized right (or left) track so that both ...

Re: 'Voice' removal from CD track not good result
I downloaded the plug in to allow audacity to function. That would be the FFMpeg software, yes. Audacity doesn't know about Windows Media without that. when I edit a Media player track the result is that the mandolin is effectively supressed but the other intrument ...

... quite often contain "illegal" characters in the file name. Audacity should be able to import the MP4 if you have a compatible version of FFmpeg installed (as per the instructions here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown) but you may need to ...
