Re: Slow startup since 2.0.3
does lame require 40 seconds for loading? I doubt it - look at Help > Show Log... to see how long the search or load for LAME and FFmpeg takes. If you use Audacity every day you could add it to your Startup group so that the delay on first launch takes place when Windows loads and when ...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports
... topic by saying that it was not unreasonable to have OGG respect Default Sample Format, and now it does. The developer who originally implemented FFmpeg support in Audacity took the view that it was saner not to change what FFmpeg does and blanket-expand all its formats to 32-bit float according ...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports
Some file imports use the default sample format setting, others don't. The ones that don't include APE (or any other ffmpeg format) and OGG. They are always 16-bit regardless of the setting. Bug reports about Audacity should please give your version of Windows, Mac or Linux and three-section ...

Re: Menu flashing, will not save modified project
If the menu bar flashes, Core Audio thinks you have muted all audio. So I'm curious which other audio editor you've installed. OcenAudio?
Also, how have you uninstalled the previous ffmpeg?

Menu flashing, will not save modified project
... the file closes, and all changes are lost. This may have began after I installed another audio editor, and (I think) a different version of ffmpeg? However, the madness continues even after reinstalling Audacity itself, and it's preferred version of ffmpeg, so I cannot be certain. Anyone ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Won't Find FFmpeg libraries
... I'm trying to open an audio file from Quicktime. It's an Apple MPEG-4 audio file. I have gone to File > Import > Audio and told the format to be FFmpeg-compatible files. I see my file, when I click on it to OPEN, it says the FFmpeg not found. And around and around I go.

Re: Can't play a WAV file
Audacity can import AMR_WB using FFmpeg but I agree this is very likely an encrypted version of AMR-WB that VoiceAge sells for use on specific proprietary players. Therefore your best chance is to ask the person who gave you the file.

Re: Slow startup since 2.0.3
... I've found I simply don't need more than that. Audacity does a lot of work when it launches especially in searching for and loading LAME and FFmpeg and in polling your sound devices. When you launch Audacity next time in two seconds, are you launching it after quit or opening a new window ...
