If these are M4A/MP4 files it's a bug in Audacity 2.1.0 unfortunately. You can fix it by installing FFmpeg. Please see this topic for download link and more explanation: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 47&t=84958.

... download the YouTube video using a browser extension. Use your favourite search engine to find out how. To get the video into Audacity, install FFmpeg as per http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown then drag the video file into Audacity. Gale
