... seconds? You can still edit the Sound Recorder file, if Windows Sound Recorder writes a v2 WMA file and not a later WMA version file. Just install FFmpeg according to the instructions on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown , then import the WMA file into ...

So I am on Windows 7, using the latest Audacity 2.1.2 installed via the exe. I also downloaded the LAME and the ffmpeg. I finally got around to recording some of my records and I got one song done that sounded great. I tried exporting to 3 different formats, MP3, M4A, and WAV. ...

Re: HOW DO I CHANGE THE FILETYPE?
... tell us what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page). How on earth do I change the filetype from WMA to FFmpeg or WAV to create my own music mix in Audacity? FFmpeg is not a file type. It is a library that you have to install if you want to export WMA ...

Followed the help guide with "preference"--select etc---still no go.
Any further thoughts.

The notes seem to suggest FFMpeg 2.2.2 is appropriate for your software versions.

Re: How to append multiple MP3 files
... Windows tells me Audacity has it open. I have to exit Audacity, then I can rename the file. Sorry that is a known issue if you import a file using FFmpeg. The problem started when we changed in Audacity 2.0.6 to using the 2.2.2 version of FFmpeg. You can use an unlocker such as http://lockhunter.com/download.htm ...

... there will be about 2 seconds of noise added to the end. Audacity does not import most of this end padding, either using the libsndfile or FFmpeg importers, but this is not an Audacity bug. Audacity is importing the length that libsndfile and FFmpeg see. I have a problem with audacity - ...

... by inferring that I should be sticking to the 32 bit version which I got hold of. So just to reiterate for anyone else who might be following: FFmpeg version 2.2 can not read DSD (.dsf or .dff) files. You need to get hold of version 2.3 which is available here http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win32/shared/2014/ ...

Re: SACD .dsf files
Are you able to read dsf files with version 2.2.? I don't know... I found FFmpeg Supported Audio CODECs . I assume that's the latest version of FFmpeg. I see DSD (for decoding only) but I don't see DSF. Is that the same thing? I've "heard" that foobar2000 ...
