... Audacity 2.0.5. I am new to audio editing and when I was reading the manual for Audacity, it said that to export as mp3, I had to download Lame or FFMpeg. However, before downloading either I tried to export as mp3 and Audacity allowed me to. When I checked the exported mp3 on vlc media player, ...

Lame settings [SOLVED]
Clear install W10 + Audacity 2.1.2
Lame and ffmpeg are imported.
When I do an MP3 export, I find only a standard format option.
Works fine but the problem is that the format is not accepted by my video editing system.
My question: how can I export an MP3 with Lame, like it was before?
Thanks.

Re: Windows 7 & Audacity 2.1.2
No-one except you is reporting issues. You should not have added entries to PATH. You should remove all paths to FFmpeg from PATH unless other software put them there. As I already said twice now, you can use your ffmpeg.exe and export at the command-line using (external program) ...

Re: WavPack support
Audacity can import WavPack files if you install FFmpeg (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown)
For exporting lossless compressed files, you could use FLAC - the compression ratio and encoding / decoding speeds are similar and both are lossless.
