I think it is totally random which progress dialogues appear or don't.

Re: FFmpeg Problems
I did export multiple by labels for a different album, and I don't think the problem with the progress box not appearing is that the cursor is in the track; the cursor was at the beginning of track 18 or 19, for which the progress box did appear, and if I recall correctly, it nevertheless simply did...

Re: [Fedora 23] Audacity 2.1.2 crashes on startup
I tried both those options today without success (--without-ffmpeg and --disable-dynamic-loading), i'll try again tomorrow and post the results. I downgraded to 2.1.1 today which starts fine, the trick seems to be setting both devices, both input and output. ...

Re: [Fedora 23] Audacity 2.1.2 crashes on startup
Those errors are probably due to building against unsupported (too late) system FFmpeg. Audacity does not support greater than FFmpeg 2.3: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#linff . If you don't want FFmpeg support, configure ...

Re: YouTube -> phone?
... installed it, but I have no idea what to do after that. If you can transfer the file to your computer using the USB cable, then if you install FFmpeg , Audacity will be able to import the QCP file assuming it contains QCELP or EVRC format. Assuming your phone supports WAV, export from Audacity ...

Re: Audacity 2.x.x takes 1 min to start, Audacity < 1.3.0 2
There are probably multiple reasons 2.x is slower. A lot goes on when Audacity launches, such as querying audio devices and looking for LAME and FFmpeg. 1.3.0 did not support FFmpeg, and only used one audio host (MME). 2.x.x has to query audio devices for supported sample rates and other features ...

Re: New User: Library question
You only need Lame for mp3, but ffmpeg can do mp3 export too, if Lame is installed.
Probably you could export mp3 from Audacity because Lame was already installed by some other software and it was a version that's compatible with Audacity?
Maybe with "iTunes-LAME Encoder"?
