Re: Desync issue Audacity 2.1.0 executable Windows 7-64

... as long as you are using Audacity 2.1.3 you will be able to make the Audacity WAV exactly the length of the camcorder audio. If necessary, install FFmpeg which should let you drag the camcorder video file into Audacity which should then let Audacity import the camcorder audio. Gale

Re: iphone 4

If you install the FFmpeg software into Audacity, it might open up the sound portion of the original MP4 video file. Scroll down. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ RAW rarely does what everybody wants. Instead of relying ...

Re: any tips for running Audacity 2.1.2.0 on Guest User acco

When I test on my Macbook Pro Sierra macOS 10.12.3 with the Guest account - I install Audacity (and FFmpeg & LAME) on the guest user desktop and they run fine from there.

Of course as soon as you log out from Guest the files and the apps all get deleted.

Re: Newbie asking for a kickstart, please!

FFmpeg includes "dsfdec" which is a DSD / DSF decoder. I think that dBpoweramp also has an optional DSD decoder I don't know of any software DSF encoders. Conversion from analog to DSD is generally done in hardware. ...

Re: Newbie asking for a kickstart, please!

Thanks Steve.

Due to your hint, I now have it working in stereo, and it does as expected.

Unfortunately I've also just discovered that although I can import DSF files with ffmpeg, I can't export them. *sigh*

... is only set when the play button is pressed and that is apparently too late. I also have a problem related to the failure to recognise Lame and FFMPEG libraries but I will post this separately if I can't find what I have done wrong.

Re: Audio Is Getting Skewed

I think I understand the problem. If you don't have FFmpeg installed in Audacity and you load a file Audacity doesn't understand, it will play the sound with no decompression—very rapidly.

Scroll down to the additional software.

Re: Audacity did not recognize the type of file

Voice recorders are notorious for using weird formats.
Have you installed FFmpeg? If not, you could try installing FFmpeg (instructions here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_ ... tml#ffdown) and if you are very lucky, that may enable Audacity to import the file.

... mixed sound. "My doobly-doo turned out louder than the voices. How do I change it in Audacity?" You probably don't. If you apply the FFMpeg software to Audacity, it should open the sound portion of a video directly with no other software. Scroll down on this page. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ ...
