FFmpeg on Audacity for Big Sur 11.0 M1 chip
Hello - I'm trying to add FFmpeg to Audacity 2.4.2. I've followed all the instructions, but I am now in a loop. The FFmpeg library ended up in Library/ApplicationSupport/audacity/libs. No squiggle in front of the path. So I guess it's ...

Re: Error opening sound device.
What is not working? What are you trying to record from? What is the exact error message (including the error code number)?
FFmpeg has nothing to do with recording.

Error opening sound device.
I'm actually using Big Sur.
I just installed Audacity and FFmpeg. I've tried all the suggestions in the manual, but it still is not working.

Re: FFmpeg download link?
I've just tested the link:
RECOMMENDED download:ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg
It's working fine - downloaded in a couple of seconds.

FFmpeg download link?
Does anyone know why the link to download the FFmpeg library isn't working? (https://lame.buanzo.org/#lameosx64bitdl) I thought maybe it was my device but colleagues have also tried and nothing ever loads.
Is there an alternative place where these can be downloaded (for Mac & Windows?)

Re: Use of ffmpeg 4.x.x
That was surprisingly easy. Turns out that all you have to do is overwrite the headers in the Audacity source \lib-src\ffmpeg\ with those from the ffmpeg 4.13 source and recompile Audacity. If you have a copy of Visual Studio 2017 or Visual Studio 2019 with the VS 2017 build tools. ...

avformat-58
Hello! In the libraries you can include "avformat-55". Now I have downloaded the latest version (avformat-58) from ffmpeg.org. Sadly, it does not allow to embed it. Audacity is unfortunately not future-oriented, so does not believe that plugins evolve. Would be nice if this would ...

... and add the labels to the songs. I did try the online convert as jademan said and the file was corrupt and gave the same results. I also tried the FFmpeg with no luck. Not sure if it was a glitch with my $60 turntable with the internal analog to digital converter. I tried another old album and ...

Re: MP3 Decoding Failed
I read this post as similar... Did you try this solution to decode with FFmpeg? Or, if you have a desktop or tower computer with a "regular soundcard" you can connect the turntable's analog line-outputs to line-in (blue) on your soundcard and record directly ...
