Re: Still Will not import a file

If FFmpeg is installed correctly into Audacity, it covers these formats ... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/FFmpe ... ctionality

If your file format is not on that list, a workaround would be convert the file into something Audacity can recognize.

Dear All I walk through many forums. I tried to apply proposed fixes but doesn't work. I loaded a new FFMpeg files from the linked shared on Audacity. Unzipped it. I made some experiments with placing dynamic libraries in the different folders. It doesn't help System don't ...

Re: Opening MPEG-TS files - audio is offset in timeline

I have given up on this problem. I have switched to using the raw command line version of ffmpeg to transcode my MPEG-TS files. It turns out to be orders of magnitude faster anyway.

... that play on anything that can play AACs. Or, you could try TAudioConverter which gives you a couple of different AAC encoder options (including FFmpeg). ...Usually, what you're converting it from doesn't matter as long as Audacity can open the file. Audacity uses 32-bit floating-point PCM internally, ...

Re: Bitrate solution?

As you point out in the second sentence, the FFMpeg libraries are doing all the advanced format heavy lifting. That's not an Audacity product. FFMpeg isn't perfect. Several people have posted about inconsistencies or errors in the libraries and ...

Bitrate solution?

I am trying to record LPs at 24/96 and then export as AAC in a way that will play on both iTunes and my Sony Xperia with one file. Using the M4A FFMPEG standard option on 500 full quality. It seems iTunes will not play the 24/96 recorded rates but the phone will. Phone specs state 24/192 capabilities. ...

Re: Lame

Why are you installing Lame?

Are you getting it from here (scroll down)?

http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

Will it let you install FFMpeg? They have different jobs, but installing both is harmless. I'm wondering if either worked.

Re: Clean noisy sound

... also a "lossy" format, so not an ideal starting point, but if that's all you have then you can only use what you've got ;) If you have FFmpeg installed, you can probably import the audio from the MP4 directly without converting to an intermediary format. If you don't have FFmpeg installed, ...
