Did you download Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe and ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe from here and did you run the EXE files to install?I reinstalled the LAME package

Big Fail on my part not reading the diff between LAME and FFmpeg. Now installed properly, thanks for patience with a newbie.
P.S. adding the tetragram for "fail" causes an SQL error on phpBB, interesting.

I downloaded the first two items listed at the page all the documentation points to and they install libmp3lame.dylib. How is a user to know this?

That's the wrong file. You need to find "libavformat.55.dylib".foggy wrote:Go to preferences / libraries and locate the file "libmp3lame.dylib.".
The normal location for the FFmpeg shared libraries is /Library/Application Support/audacity/libs.
