I reinstalled the LAME package

Did you download Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe and ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe from here and did you run the EXE files to install?

I tried to import a .wav and got the message that Audacity can't find the LAME and FFMPEG libraries. I did the needed browse and found the needed libraries, as expected (installed with V2.1.3 install). I still get can't find the needed libraries. I reinstalled the ...

Big Fail on my part not reading the diff between LAME and FFmpeg. Now installed properly, thanks for patience with a newbie.

P.S. adding the tetragram for "fail" causes an SQL error on phpBB, interesting.

Does anyone else see a problem here?
I downloaded the first two items listed at the page all the documentation points to and they install libmp3lame.dylib. How is a user to know this?

That's the wrong file. You need to find "libavformat.55.dylib".

The normal location for the FFmpeg shared libraries is /Library/Application Support/audacity/libs.
