Re: Installed FFMPEG, still cannot import mp4 multi track au
I can't be sure about that specific format, but with at least some multi-channel formats, you can select multiple channels to import at the same time. Give that a go and see if it works with that format. This works. During mp4 import, Audacity prompts for which track to import. You can use shift or...

Re: Installed FFMPEG, still cannot import mp4 multi track au
SOLVED User error. Much like I did not read the directions for the forum and waiting for approval, I did not read the Audacity prompt that is showing the 4 tracks on my mp4 I actually have to pick one of the four tracks to import. I was not clicking on any track, and simply clicking OK, expecting t...

Re: Adjustable Fade "Error" error.
Take a look in "Help > Diagnostics > Show Log". There is usually a load of stuff related to loading FFmpeg at the start, so to make things clearer I'd suggest that you: 1) Launch Audacity 2) Open the Log 3) Clear the log 4) Attempt to run any Nyquist effect (such as ...

Re: Creating SFX while previewing video clip
No, and you didn't mention the next obvious problem. You'll need a video editor to put your finished work back into the video. Audacity can play and edit many video formats—more with the FFMpeg add-on, but it will only produce a stand-alone sound file when you get done.

Re: Importin 32-bit wav from an old Cool Edit version
Solved! The problem consists in the coding used by Cool Edit for the 32-bit which must be 16.8 float (type 1) . It was sufficient to update ffmpeg (3.3 or later. I tried on Linux). In particular, you need to use the codec pcm_f16le for the input. But you must manually normalize the waveshape ...

Re: Cannot import this flac file/s?
It worked for me. Are you sure you have the FLAC file? 001.flac is 6.06 MB. I'm not sure, but I don't think you need FFmpeg for FLAC. Did you try downloading MP3? I know Audacity can open an MP3 file without any add-ons, although you need LAME to make (export) an MP3. When I attempted ...
