... your post and I've changed my mind. Initially I was just looking at the bit-rate, (243 kbps) which is too low for stereo music. Looking at your ffmpeg settings, that should be correct for ALAC lossless, and I presume that you were exporting a mono track. Yes.. it's a 22 kHz mono track. Thanks -Ed

Unfortunately, updates to FFmpeg frequently break compatibility with earlier versions, which then requires substantial work from the Audacity developers to fix, and means that everyone updating Audacity will also have to reinstall FFmpeg. ...

I have a Mac OS Sierra and am using 2.2.1 Audacity and I cannot download ACX check it says "There is no appliation set to open the document 'Acx-check.ny'" . I tried to use audacity to import and it said Audacity doesn't recognize try installing ffmpeg

is there a way to use a newer FFMPEG? maybe 64bit? I do import and export large audio files from my cam, around 5-6h lenght through FFMPEG and this is SLOOOOW as hell, the only working is v2.2.2 (32bit I guess?) is there a chance to upgrade ...

Do you have Audacity 2.2.1? Did you download FFmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe ? What happened when you ran the EXE file? Any error messages? After running the installer you should have a folder (somewhere under Program Files) called FFmpeg For Audacity that ...
