Lame is for exporting MP3.

FFMpeg is a different program.

File > Export > Export Audio > Custom FFMpeg exports. Is your format in those lists?

m4a is a "container format", which usually contains audio and video. Audacity does not do video, but if you install FFmpeg for Audacity, then you will probably be able to import the audio part of the m4a file. Those log messages are "normal". They just say that the optional FFmpeg program is not installed. They are unrelated to the problem with the Super USB cassette converter. I'll close this topic as it is a duplicate of the one that I've replied to here: ...
