Re: Finding FFmpeg Library

Thanks to to you all. I had indeed mistakenly downloaded the lame zip instead of the FFmpeg zip file. Once I had downloaded the correct one and pointed Audacity at it, bingo, my recording works perfectly.

Thanks again for the wake-up!

Re: Can not launch ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe - "The setup files are corrupted"

Yes, I was left-clicking on the exe file. I just resolved the issue. I had to download the ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe to another computer, copy it to a thumb drive, copy it to the PC that said the setup files were corrupted and then it executed without any issues. Thanks for ...

Re: Can not launch ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe - "The setup files are corrupted"

Here's the result I got for SHA-256:

231122905d520e17391f62c9d5421b352c605e35e6c5675eec0bcc9fc0d760e2 (see screenshot)

Definitely not the same.

Would you mind downloading a copy of the exe file and see if you get the expected value or the one I got?

... is corrupted as no one else has reported the issue. I agree that it's unlikely, but best to check. Use this web page to analyze your copy of the "ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe" file: https://md5file.com/calculator The "SHA256" result should be: abf3eee0c2556f6efa0d4446df7244778a61d6c3c339a4ecabaccdd85568e4e8

Re: Finding FFmpeg Library

... now, the *first* download is for Lame, which you don't need (maybe someone should tell buanzo!) I have asked Buanzo to update his site so that a) FFmpeg comes first b) LAME is marked as "Legacy - LAME built in to current Audacity" Peter.

Can not launch ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe - "The setup files are corrupted"

Hello, I've been trying to install the ffmpeg codec for my Windows 10 machine without success. First, I clicked the ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe found at https://lame.buanzo.org/#lamewindl and it downloads to my computer. I then click the ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe ...

... site just now, the *first* download is for Lame, which you don't need (maybe someone should tell buanzo!) You need to download the second file, FFmpeg 2.2.2, either the ZIP or the EXE should work. I hope this helps. :D

Re: Finding FFmpeg Library

... the Audacity plug-ins folder, exited Audacity and then re-started it. I went to Preferences - Libraries and clicked on the Locate button next to "FFmpeg Library:", navigated to the file lame_enc.dll, and clicked open, then OK and Audacity didn't do anything notable. It still said "FFmpeg Library ...
