Re: Audacity crash all the time
Are you getting an error message? Have you tried exporting to WAV? (Saving your project or exporting to WAV does not require LAME or FFmpeg.) (I download ffmpeg and lame) LAME is for exporting MP3s. (You can open MP3s without it.) FFmpeg is for importing and exporting a wide variety of other ...

Re: Chain export settings (now Macros)
If you're familiar with writing batch scripts, then either FFmpeg, or perhaps SoX (http://sox.sourceforge.net/). As for now, i'm using mkvtools quite often and im order my files to be scrabbed for Kodi, i'm allready used to it. While im not really "scripting", ...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error
I managed to get this same error after download FFMPEG for Windows v0.6.2 and trying to point Audacity 2.3.1 at it. This would come up every time I started Audacity and not be able to actually use the library. Looking at the site to download the ...

Re: Can't import .wav files despite having FFmpeg and resetting preferences
I tried resetting my Audacity preferences, by deleting the audacity.cfg file, but even after I showed hidden files, it was not in Library/Application Support/audacity. What am I missing? Thanks very much. You want to look in ~/Library/Application Support/audacity . Note the "~" character ...

Re: Can't import .mov files despite having FFmpeg and resetting preferences

That's my mistake. I thought they were .wav files, but they are actually .mov files.

Re: Can't import .wav files despite having FFmpeg and resetting preferences
Call Recorder for Skype. It produces .wav files. I super-duper doubt that. Nobody makes wave files unless forced into it at gunpoint. The rest of your post proved my point. Audacity supports wave files and has forever. If it starts looking for QuickTime support and other odd options, then what you ...

Re: Can't import .wav files despite having FFmpeg and resetting preferences
Audacity doesn't require FFmpeg for WAV files. If Audacity is asking for FFmpeg, that means that either the audio file is not WAV format, or the file is damaged / corrupt.
