... subtitles, are multiplexed on DVDs & Blu-Rays. There was a similar thread recently, but there was no "direct" solution posted. P.S. FFmpeg may be able to it, if you can figure-out how to use it.

Re: Suggestions to improve the chances of finding the official site or partner site of Audacity in search results.

The official home page is https://www.audacityteam.org/.

From there, there are links to the Fosshub download sites and the 3rd-party FFmpeg (and old LAME) download sites, this forum, etc.

... (dialog normalization) that adjusts the playback volume so if everything is done "correctly" you should be OK. I don't know if the FFmpeg decoder uses Dialnorm or if it ignores it. If Dialnorm is being ignored, that could account for the apparent amplification. I don't know if you ...

Re: merging audio files

... Audacity which is 2.3.2 ? That us the first version in which we built in LAME. BTW LAME is only for MP3 export - for MP4/AAC yoy need the optional FFmpeg library. But a workaround for you would be to Export as AIFF or WACV and use iTunes to covert to MP3 or MP4. WC

Re: ffmpeg library not found

thanks DVDdoug. I thought I had tried that particular download, but apparently didn't. It worked. For my part, the online instructions were confusing and led me down several wrong paths. THank heavens there are helpful experts like you to help resolve these things for we, the digitally challenged.

Lame on Windows 10 Professional

I took delivery of my new PC yesterday. Been using Audacity since 2007, tried transferring Audacity from my W7 PC but had trouble with Lame & FFmpeg. Eventually, downloaded latest version of Audacity & FFmpeg but can't find Lame. Help please.

Re: ffmpeg library not found

LAME and FFmpeg are separate. LAME is for exporting to MP3 and it's now built-into Audacity.

FFmpeg allows importing/exporting most other formats that Audacity does not directly support.

Download ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe. Run the EXE file to install FFmpeg and Audacity should find it.

ffmpeg library not found

I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit, and Audacity 2.3.2. I am able to download the Lame library but the program cannot find the avformat-55.dll file that it needs. I've tried the non compressed and compressed files. Nothing works.

Re: Can't load mp4 (mp41/avc1) encoded audio files

I found the reason. By googling the Mediainfo output, I found the answer on videohelp.com Apparently it's because the files are truncated. When I save a radio stream and stop correctly, the file can be loaded, but when I take a snapshot of the file while recording (which I often did successfully whe...

Re: Can't load ffmpeg libraries (yes... another one of those)

According to the log I posted, I wasn't able to open an AAC-coded file like it should. If that's the only file giving you trouble maybe there's something wrong with that file. ;) Where did that file come from? Have you tried other AAC/MP4 files? Can you play that file in Windows Media Player? Maybe...
