Audacity is killing my hard drive. I think.
... I can edit them and whatnot. But I can't access them through any other means, and most importantly I cannot delete the massive quantities of uncompressed audio choking my hard drive. ... Any you will never manage to export a 24-bit MP3 file - it just isn't possible. If you need 24-bit data then you need to use a better format or uncompressed PCM data. ... what you are hitting. If you change the default sample format to 32-bit then you should find it works. If not, play with the options for importing uncompressed files between "read directly from original file" and "make a copy before editing" - one may work better than the other.

Re Traction I haven't a clue. If you can export a set of uncompressed WAV of AIFF files from it, then you can use Project > Import Audio to load them into audacity. Going the other way, you can use File > Export Multiple set to break up by track to export ...
