Re: .caf files

And I note there are several other formats available in the "Other uncompressed audio files" that may have size limits - and those limits may not be 4gb.
Can anybody cast any insight onto the other formats in this list ?

Re: .caf files

RF64 WAV supports large (> 4 GB) files. Indeed it does - but in that later Audacities, it too (wrongly) falls foul of the 4K size trap - I just tested this on 2.3.3. Peter On this page in the Manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/other_uncompressed_files_export_options.html It states: "The RF...

Re: .caf files

Does it say anywhere Audacity supports CAF? If I had to guess at it, I'd say Audacity may have partial support and you just hit the partial. This page in the Manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/other_uncompressed_files_export_options.html has nothing explicit to say about CAF - but CAF is d...

To select RF64, you need to use the "other uncompressed files" option: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/fil ... ialog.html

MP3 Playback Crackling Issue

... difference. If I create a recording in Audacity using my internal microphone, playback sounds perfect. The same crackling is present when I import uncompressed audio formats as well (.wav and .aiff). I'd appreciate any suggestions to try resolve this error.

Re: burned CD from Audacity is loaded with noise

... There are 2 kinds of CDs: An audio CD doesn't contain "computer files" and if you want to copy the files to your computer you have to use ... you configure the application to make an audio CD. But if you have an uncompressed original, it's better to avoid the unnecessary lossy compression. ...

... resolution original and a copy downsampled to "CD quality". In fact an good quality MP3 (or other lossy format) can often sound identical to the uncompressed original or sometimes you have to listen very carefully to hear the difference (in a proper blind listening test).

Big, brand-new problems! Tracks silenced and other stuff

... When I tried to open the project files, I got this message: "Audacity did not recognize the type of the file 'H:\folder\filename.aup'. If it is uncompressed, try importing it using "Import Raw". That stopped me in my tracks (no pun intended). So, I tried redoing the job, importing the MP3 files ...
