To Export as 32 bit you need to select "other uncompressed files" as the format, then select 32 bit WAV in "Options". However, (now I know what you are wanting to do) I agree that in this case, copying directly from one project ...

I did a bit of reading up and I found that I need to use the option 'other uncompressed files' - choose WAV and the 32-bit Float - so I did that - exported and its silent - so does that mean that's what I need to export as and use an audio converta to convert to another format like MP3?

If you haven't already found how to export *.LAW and ADPCM, choose "Other Uncompressed Files" in the Export File window, then "Options". I didn't know you could use Audacity to export to u-Law. Thanks. I don't recommend sticking mp3 into a wave ...
