Re: analyzing/reproducing an effect
... amount of distortion on the voice it is difficult to tell if the noise is present (but band-pass filtered) during the words, or if they have used "auto-ducking" to suppress the noise while the voice is sounding. You could try both and see which sounds better. Auto Duck is included in Audacity ...

Re: Auto Tune/Vo-Coder (T-Pain Voice)
Audacity does not have an "Autotune" plug-in. Apparently Antares Auto-tune kind of works if you install the VST bridge, but is almost unusable due the lack of the custom GUI. In Audacity, the closest that you will come is probably by using the vocoder as suggested by Koz, but if you need the real T-...

Re: Auto Tune/Vo-Coder (T-Pain Voice)
Somebody Google the effect. I've never heard of it. Point us to a sound track with the effect? iTunes references work. You mean like the Peter Frampton effect in that Geico commercial? Unfortunately, the guy who posted it on YouTube pulled it down. That's a vocoder and I think there's a whole thread...

Re: BPM Counter?
That's how I do it. Auto BPM counters get into a lot of trouble if the bass or rhythm line isn't consistent. Many will give you double the number you think on a trance tune and then freak at the vocal solo in the middle.

Auto Tune/Vo-Coder (T-Pain Voice)
I will be recording my first track tommorow. Using Audacity of course. I would like to sing the Hook/Chorus using a T-Pain effect. (Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Various others have used it.) I was wondering if there is a way in Audacity to be able to do this? If anyone can point me in the right direct...

Re: How to i apply this effect to my recordings?
That is not just a simple sound effect, but quite a lot of manipulation. It sounds like they have made heavy use of resonant filters, possibly an auto-tune effect, and reverb. Here a little sample (attached) of a similar (but different) effect using Audacity 1.3.5 The method used here was: 1) Record...

Re: Problems with G-Snap/Auto-tune
Do you think it will ever be possible to have the graphic interface with Audacity in the future? Not unless Steinberg change the licensing terms. I would rather that Audacity stayed open source with VST graphical interface, than went closed source with VST graphical interface. Hopefully at some poi...
