Using plugin without changing music
I have the gsnap plug in which is pretty much an auto tune feature. Works great, but when I drop an instrumental into audacity and record vocals over it, the music is also in auto tune. I just want the vocals that I record over the music to have that effect. Any advice on making this work?

Audacity can pick up radio channels?
... how else I can help in the way of more information. And actually, some of what you have said honestly just brings me back to questions. What is "auto squench"? If my version of Audacity has it, why is it no longer working? Is there a way within Audacity to "tune in" my device to some other frequency? ...

... enough (without taking too long to get there) will allow the plug-in to "auto-tune" to the test frequency.

Re: Audacity and VST plug-ins
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w/index.php?title=VST_Plug-ins#List_of_functional_Plug-ins says the Auto-Tune plug-in works perfectly with Audacity 1.3 I think "perfectly" is an exaggeration. It would be better to say "it works within the capabilities of VST support in Audacity". Audacity is not a ful...

Audacity and VST plug-ins
Audacity works perfectly fine with the plug-ins which come with the package (e.g. reverb), but I am having trouble getting it to work with VST plug-ins... For both VSTs that I tried (Antares Auto-Tune and Celemony Melodyne), the GUIs loaded fine, but the plug-ins appear to be working with an empty a...

Re: Noise Reduction, a Judgement Call
There is also the Cher/ T-pain extreme autotune effect ... http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm (but that effect is a bit old hat). Trebor, is this the effect that thay seem to be using on the songs in the "Glee" TV programme? I'm just curious. WC Yes but the "Cher" effect is with autotune with extreme ...

Re: Noise Reduction, a Judgement Call
I think you'll find there might be more than 1 effect that they use in Glee recordings... :D But yes extreme auto-tune software such as this is ever increasingly being used. I've seen it in TV commercials now - and its all over Youtube (look for the remixes of Double Rainbow...). Quite funny really,...

When Recording on Laptop Mic, Playback Pitch is Way too high
Hey Fellas. Anybody else have this problem? I was recording with my lap top mic, and when I push play to hear what i Just recorded, it sounds like I changed the pitch super High. (Quality is also sacrificed somewhat) The weird thing is, it just started doing this out of the blue. I've used Audacity ...

Re: Improvement of Auto Duck effect
I don't think that Markus is currently active in Audacity development so I don't know how you would contact him. Are you aware of the "Envelope Tool"? http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Envelope_Tool For now at least you could use the Auto Duck effect to make most of the changes (processing in secti...
