Re: AutoTune with GSNAP missing left hand waveforms
I just learned that the part of the display next to the place the waveforms appear where the piano keys are show is also controlled by the Set A Scale selection that puts and X on the keys (notes) that will not be tuned to. I checked my test signal with Audacity Analyze and I clearly have a C Major ...

Re: Plug-in Manager crash with specific VST dll
Are these plug-ins supposed to work with Audacity? With free VSTs it's usually hit-or-miss. Most commercial VSTs will have a web page listing host applications that are officially supported. Audacity is rarely listed, even if the VST might work with Audacity. I assume that's because most Audacity us...

Re: Shock mount for use in a restaurant
Welcome back. I would not be using a computer/USB cable/Yeti for this job. I would be using a small personal recorder and washcloth or small towel under it. If you tune it just right, you can use the table as reflector to boost the volume. My recorder has a "zoom microphone" so I can aim it at the p...

Re: How to turn a normal speaking into a song?
I'd guess that was done with Melodyne or maybe AutoTune . There is free '"pitch correction" plug-in called G-Snap, but I'm not too sure how well it works or if it will work in this application. Audacity has a Change Pitch effect, but you'd have to select & change one word/note at a time and it would...

Re: Pitch changing problems
If you only want to correct a few "sour notes" here and there (without re-pitching the whole song) you need a tool like Auto-tune, Melodyne, or GSnap. (GSnap is free.) But, if you have a "regular song" with instruments & vocals you won't be able to fix the vocals without messing-up the accompaniment...

Re: Change pitch without "chipmunk effect"
I only know of expensive commercial products that can do this. The best known is "Antares Auto-Tune". Auto-Tune requires a "certified compatible host program" (such as ProTools or Cubase). Further details are available on their website.

Re: Newbie question regarding formant filter
Topic moved to Mac OS X board. The only ones that I know of for Mac are Autotune 8 and Autotune 8 live. The Live version is about around $250 whereas the full version is about $400. I don't think either of them work with Audacity but they should work in GarageBand (http://www.antarestech.com/product...

Plugins Show Up In Their Folder, But Can't Be Used
I recently downloaded the 2.1.1 update for Audacity, and decided to download the VST Enabler, and Gsnap so I could auto-tune my voice for a video I'm doing. I followed online walk-through's to the "T" and still can't use Gsnap. It doesn't even show up in my effects. If I manage effects, I find Gsnap...

Re: Is it possible to even out the audio pitch?
... the problem is that they all have varying audio pitches ... ...some setting that will automatically make it so that all the audio is a similar pitch A free plugin called DTBLKFX can force the pitch of the left channel to follow the pitch on the right channel , (a bit like auto-tune) ... Re: Can't install Auto-Tune
I recently bought Autotune, and have downloaded Audacity 2.1.1 to use it. When Enabling the VST Plugin in the Effects>Manage screen, I click on the VST, hit Enable, then press OK. However, when I try and search the Effects dropdown menu in Audacity for the newly enabled plugin, it isn't there. I re...
